will require the construction of road ramps over
the levee on the west end at a housing
development. The roads impacted are Rodrigues
Street and Martinez Street. This levee will also
serve as a plug to the Rio Santiago channel where
flow will be reversed in this channel. (2)
Project work also includes construction of a
levee approximately parallel and off set from the
Tanama River extending from high ground on the
southern end to the embankment of Highway PR-10
on the north. This levee will block access to
land parcels on the east side and at the request
of the local sponsor, an access road will be
constructed on the south east side of the levee.
(3) Project work also includes construction of a
channel beginning at a point on the Rio Santiago
channel south of Highway PR-22 running parallel
to San Francisco Road, under Highway PR-10, and
terminating at the Arecibo River. (4) Project
work also includes construction of a culvert
structure consisting of six, 72-inch diameter
pipes under Highway PR-10. This culvert structure
is proposed to be installed using microtunneling
techniques so as to avoid disruption to traffic
on Highway PR-10. (5) Project work also includes
relocation of various utilities and roadways
within the limits of the proposed construction.
