(3) working days of inspection. Bidder shall
inspect the seven (7) towers listed quarterly.
Annual radio tower inspections shall be performed
on a mutually agreed upon date each year.
Quarterly radio tower inspections shall be
performed in 90 day increments (+/-10 working
days) thereafter.
Check tower alignment, and make adjustments
necessary to insure it is not out of plumb. Check
tower structure for bow, kinks missing, corroded,
or bent members. Observe all bolt connections on
the tower and replace any that are missing. Check
tower base for settling or tilting and anchors
for tilting or rusting.
Check cable clips and guy wires for proper
tension, rusting, and other forms of
deterioration, and correct,
Check all wires for broken strands and proper
tension to be set with dynamometer to
specification, if
necessary. Check all turn buckles and other
hardware for rust and if necessary, clean brush
and paint with primer and finish coat. Check all
electrical fixtures for proper operation and
watertight integrity. Ensure that all hasps and
safety chains on the fixtures are secure and all
drain holes in piping are clear and base drains
are clear and unobstructed. Check photocell
operation and repair as necessary. Navigational
lightning bulbs shall be replaced (relamped)
annually. Check all antennas for visible physical
and electrical defects. This includes checking of
all antenna mounting clamps to ensure proper
position, and presence of all mounting clamp
bolt. Check all cables to insure close and
uniform fit to tower structure without bends or
kinks to cause shorting or physical stress. Check
all air lines for leaks. Check grounding cables
for proper connection to the framework and
grounding rod. Ensure there are no kinks or sharp
ends. Check painted tower for chalking or
flaking. Repaint any small areas as needed. A
written report must be provided to the Radio
Systems Administrator after inspection of each
tower and site within five (5) working days of
