Pipe - Composite
Pipe made from more than one type of material. Composite pipe includes pipe made with cement & special additives, fiberglass or other speciality pipe made with multiple components. Does not include Ductile Iron (DI, DIP), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polyethylene (PE), Vitrolic Clay (VC, VCP), concrete (RCP), polyvinylchloride (PVC) or other non-composite pipes. Insulated, aluminized and galvanized pipe does not qualify as composite as it is only steel pipe which has been coated with aluminum or zinc. Cement lined pipe does not qualify.
The most common application is for pipe jacking, microtunneling and sometimes pipe rehab. It is also used in plant applications with corrosive liquids. This category is very rarely specified and should only be checked when it is certain that the pipe specified is composite.
